I had about one minute to photograph Rosie the emu and this is my clearest shot. I must meet her again!

Australasian Grebe

A mature Australasian Grebe at Forde Ponds about a week ago.

Juvenile Australasian Grebe

And here is the same grebe taking lunch yesterday. Fresh yabby. Très nouvelle cuisine.

Rainbow Lorikeet

There was no shortage of Rainbow Lorikeets in Sydney's inner west at Christmas time. They were very noisy in the mornings. This one was photographed at Ballast Point Park, Balmain.

Great Cormorant

Cormorants doing the important job of overlooking Clovelly beach.

Little Pied Cormorant

This cormorant was warming itself in the morning sun on a disused jetty in Birchgrove, Sydney.

White-faced Heron

Hats off to any heron who can live in Sydney's inner west. This one was spotted in Yurulbin Park, a small park on the harbour in Birchgrove.

Superb Parrot

Yesterday evening at Gundaroo NSW, this Superb Parrot was perfectly charming about having its photograph taken. I was able to creep in to about 5m. The tree is next to a house so maybe this parrot is very familiar with people.
 
I didn't realise how big Superb Parrots are and missed the tail.
